WHY SHOULD WE CARE ABOUT ANTARCTICA?

It's about the farthest away place on earth from most of the world's population.

Only a handful of scientists live there... there are few natural resources... it's dark half the year... and it's cold!

It's also the last unexplored continent on the planet.

The continent of Antarctica is made up of six million square miles of unknown landscapes. These landscapes still have many secrets and mysteries to be revealed.

The more we learn about Antarctica the more we realise how closely tied together Australia and Antarctica are.

THERE IS A LOT TO LEARN AND EVEN MORE TO BE GAINED.

Dear teachers!
I think Antarctica is important to Australia because if global warming happens and all the ice melts it will flood the whole world. I also like the blog those two penguins are so cute!

If the Antarctic ice sheets melt, our oceans would rise by 60 meters and most of the earth would be underwater. I think thats a good enough reason by itself to look after this very special place. Your website is great and I'm looking forward more interesting "Antarctic Articles".
